Wat Phra Sri Sanphet:

This temple, once part of the Royal Palace complex, is known for its three prominent chedis (stupas) that are said to house the ashes of Ayutthaya kings.

Wat Mahathat:

This temple is famous for the Buddha’s head nestled within the roots of a tree, a popular photo spot and a symbol of the temple’s history.

Wat Lokayasutharam:

This temple is known for its large reclining Buddha image, one of the most prominent in Ayutthaya.

Wat Yai Chaimongkol:

This temple features a large reclining Buddha image and is known for its association with Buddhist monks who were taught in Sri Lanka

Wat Phu Khao Thong

This Chedi outside the city walls, was built to celebrate the victory of King Naresuan over the Burmese. The base is in Burmese style, while the higher parts are in the style of Ayutthaya. The structure is supported underneath, after it started to subside probably as a result of illegal excavations.
